The new link road under construction, with Rotokauri Rise in the foreground
You might already be aware of the subdivision Rotokauri Rise, on the north-western side of Kirikiriroa, and that we have been developing stages 3 to 5 over the last few years.
That whenua was purchased by TGH joint venture company Rotokauri Development Ltd (RDL) expressly to be converted into a residential subdivision. All 126 sections have now sold, and most of the houses have been built.
Stage 6 for this subdivision is the construction of a public road directly linking Rotokauri to Te Rapa. This link road will be a valuable addition to the area, cutting travel time by a significant margin. It’s being built by Dempsey Wood Civil, a company we closely align with through their respect for te ao Maaori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and their commitment to diversity.
We’re especially pleased to see that many of the Dempsey Wood Civil kaimahi (workers) on this project are Maaori, primarily Tainui waka.
RDL and Hamilton City Council are jointly funding the cost of this new road, which we expect to be open later this year.
Revenue earned from the section sales at Rotokauri Rise have been invested back into TGH and used to fund dividend payments to our iwi.
