Koroneihana is Here!

Each year Koroneihana attracts hundreds of visitors nationally and internationally and brings together iwi from across the motu (country) who support the Kiingitanga, the Maaori King movement which emerged in the 1850s as a symbol of unity.

Throughout the week visitors and iwi members will take part in political debates on matters important to the Kiingitanga and to Maaoridom. Cultural performances, sports competitions, entertainment and other festivities will also take place, however, the highlight is the annual address by Kiingi Tuheitia. This year our King will deliver his address at 10am on Wednesday 21 August 2019.

For more information and to stay up with the festivities, follow the Kiingitanga Facebook page here. Link https://www.facebook.com/Kiingitanga
