At 800ha Hangawera Station is our largest farm and it takes plenty of energy to get water to the hundreds of stock scattered across the property.
For most farms that involves using diesel to power water pumps and that’s been the case for Hangawera. Until recently that is, because now the windmill and pumps are powered by solar energy.
It’s a change that means diesel for this purpose is no longer required. And we’re seeing the benefits of moving from dirty diesel to nice, clean solar energy.
This is a change for the good of our whenua and our environment that we’ll be adopting for all our farms.
