New offices and the pending arrival of the popular café, Joe’s Garage, in Bryce Street puts in place another piece of the puzzle of rejuvenating the Hamilton CBD Tainui Group Holdings (TGH) said today. TGH Chief Executive Mike Pohio said the site at 6 Bryce Street was to be redeveloped over the next 6 months into a boutique office premises and a funky café space.
Joe’s Garage started in Queenstown in 2000 and has gained a strong following in every centre it has opened. The Bryce Street tenancy is scheduled to open in December of this year and will be the café’s sixth store.
Mike Pohio said TGH was delighted to bring a new business like Joe’s Garage to Hamilton and the region. “It is our philosophy that we’re prepared to wait for the right tenant. We want to attract quality tenants and build long term relationships,” Mr Pohio said. ”We think having Joe’s Garage in Bryce Street and Palate Restaurant in our building in Alma Street, compliments the recently completed ’Dining on Bryce’ development. “These developments have definitely improved the hospitality on offer in the midVictoria Street area,’ he said. Mr Pohio said TGH is moving into some of the new office space from its current location next door, cementing the company’s commitment to the CBD.
TGH will next turn its attention to the balance of its properties in the river end of Bryce Street. The aim is to create a boutique office precinct in a fantastic River edge location. This will help energise the CBD,” he said.
